What is SEM | Search Engine Marketing

I wanted to go over the term SEM very quickly here as it is something that is thrown out in the internet marketing world often with SEO, PPC and other terminology.  There always seems to be new jargon popping up but this should set the record straight!

The umbrella for all internet search related marketing is Search Engine Marketing or SEM.  It was proposed by Danny Sullivan in 2011 and is described as “an activity or series of activities which aim to create dynamic marketing strategies for all entities on the internet.”

As a general rule, SEM is the broadest term that covers all of internet marketing methods including Search Engine Optimization and Pay Per Click advertising; basically it includes everything that attempts to drive traffic to your website through search engines.  During the late 1990’s, search engines quickly started to gain popularity and as a result, a new line of business has emerged specializing in these various avenues of marketing.

How SEM is Connected with SEO

Although SEM is connected with SEO and PPC, each concepts is different.  SEM is dedicated to advertising and marketing it is broadest sense.  SEO is a method of improving organic results from search engines and PPC is paying money for each click which in turn drives traffic to your website.

What is Propose of PPC and SEM and Which is Better for your Business??

Both PPC and SEO have the same purpose of increasing the popularity of a website among internet viewers although the methods are obviously different.  PPC is more likely to take effect sooner than SEO as it is instantaneous.  The reason for this is that for proper organic SEO to take place it takes time and work to achieve the proper page authority. learn the best digital marketing course in delhi with complete and advanced training of PPC, SEO, SMO Courses

Content is also extremely important and must be built (if it is a new site) from scratch.  PPC is often employed to supplement the SEO efforts until said efforts catch up and eventually overtake the often more costly PPC campaigns.

Hopefully that cleared up a few of these terms.  Let us know if you have any questions.
